Intermittently, when attempting to view the Directory Tree and/or perform a search in the Active Roles Web Interface the performance response time is slow.
The presentation of this issue can vary, but usually, there is a delay of 30-60 seconds every 4-5 searches.
Verbose logging from the Active Roles Administration Service shows no delays at all.
In Active Roles 7.4, ports 7465 and 7466 are used for SignalR communication for the Starling notifications in the Active Roles Web Interface. When these ports are not open, there can be a significant delay when using the Active Roles Web Interface.
These ports must be open from the client browser inbound to the Active Roles Administration Service host(s).
Due to this issue, these ports are required even if Starling is not in use or configured. This functionality cannot currently be disabled.
This issue has been identified as a product defect and is being tracked as Defect ID# 216315.
WORKAROUND
Open TCP Inbound ports 7465 (HTTP), and 7466 (HTTPS) on the Active Roles Administration Service host(s) to allow client browsers using the Active Roles Web Interface to connect to it. These ports are outlined in the: Communication Ports for Active Roles (30256)
STATUS
This issue has been resolved in Active Roles 8.1.3.
