After delegating permission to an user or security group on the Workflow Container or Custom Workflow using the following Template Access Workflow - View Workflow Containers and Automation Workflow - Full Control a error message "You don't have sufficient rights to create workflows of this type" is exhibited when an attempt of creating a Workflow is performed.
The Access Template should have the following permission:
Allow | Full Control | Automation Workflow
Allow | Full Control | Workflow Definition
Allow | List | Workflows Container
Allow | Read All Properties | Workflows Container
Allow | Create Automation Workflow Objects | Workflows Container
Allow | Create Workflow Definition Objects | Workflows Container
Allowing Full Control to Automation Workflow and Workflow Definition:
1) Create a new Access Template;
2) On the New Object - Access Template window Click on Add button;
3) On the Add Permission Entries Wizard window, select and make sure the Show all possible classes is checked. Scroll down until Automation Workflow (edsAutomationWorkflowDefinition), go until the bottom and select Workflow Definition (edsWorkflowDefinition) and then click next;
4) Make sure Full Control access is selected and click finish;
Allowing List permission to Workflows Container:
5) On the New Object - Access Template window click on Add bottom;
6) On the Add Permission Entries Wizard window, select and make sure the Show all possible classes is checked. Scroll down until Workflows Containers (edsWorkflowsContainer) and click next;
7) On the next window click on Object access and select List Object then click finish;
Allowing Read All Properties permission to Workflows Container:
8) On the New Object - Access Template window click on Add bottom;
9) On the Add Permission Entries Wizard window, select and make sure the Show all possible classes is checked. Scroll down until Workflows Containers (edsWorkflowsContainer) and click next;
10) On the next window click on Object property access and select Read properties click next;
11) On the next window under the Select object properties make sure that All properties is selected and then click finish:
Allowing Create Automation Workflow Objects permission to Workflows Container:
12) On the New Object - Access Template window click on Add bottom;
13) On the Add Permission Entries Wizard window, select and make sure the Show all possible classes is checked. Scroll down until Workflows Containers (edsWorkflowsContainer) and click next;
14) On the next window under the Select permission category, click on Creation/Deletion of child object and select Create child objects click next;
15) On the next window under the Select object classes click on Child object of the following classes:, select Automation Workflows and then click finish:
Note: If the classes are not visible, make sure that check box Show all possible classes is enabled.
Allowing Create Workflow Definition Objects permission to Workflows Container:
16) On the New Object - Access Template window click on Add bottom;
17) On the Add Permission Entries Wizard window, select and make sure the Show all possible classes is checked. Scroll down until Workflows Containers (edsWorkflowsContainer) and click next;
18) On the next window under the Select permission category, click on Creation/Deletion of child object and select Create child objects click next;
19) On the next window under the Select object classes click on Child object of the following classes:, select Workflow Definition and then click finish:
Note: If the classes are not visible, make sure that check box Show all possible classes is enabled.
Note: A image like this should be able to appear by the end of the wizard with the following permissions.
20) On the New Object - Access Template window click next and then click finish;
Go until the Workflow Container and delegate access control to an user or group with the Access Template created previously on the steps above.
