Description
Management Console for Unix (MCU) version 2.5.2 stops working on Windows or Unix / Linux when java is upgraded to a version newer than 8 (1.8)You cannot connect to MCU web ports because the MCU java is not running.Also, MCU 2.5.2 java applet will not work if installed on a system with and already installed Java newer than 8 (1.8)No error messages will be logged on the system. -
Cause
MCU 2.5.2 uses Jetty as its backend HTTP web server. Jetty relies on JAVA. Java JRE/JDK was upgraded to a newer version.The jetty version included with MCU 2.5.2 is 9.4.5.v20170502.Java 11 support was introduced in jetty 9.4.12 along with TLS 1.3 support. -
Resolution
1- Follow KB 95993 (How to backup Management Console for Unix (MCU) data.2- Upgrade MCU 2.5.2 to MCU 2.5.3.3- After upgrading, you may need to profile all hosts again. -

Management Console for Unix version 2.5.3 includes jetty 9.4.34.v20201102 with support for java 11, java 13 and TLS 1.3
