Description
While applying group policy with the /opt/quest/bin/vgptool apply command or joining the computer to Active Directory with the /opt/quest/bin/vastool join command the following error is displayed: CSE: Could not open directory '/var/opt/quest/vgp/gpt/GPO-GUID in GPT

Cause
This could be caused by a group policy replication between domain controllers issue or a corrupted GPO on the server. -
Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:
1 - Check sysvol on several domain controllers to see if the data exist. If it does not work with the AD team to get this corrected.
For machine policy data, the root of the VGP file system structure is download from the Windows
Domain controller from:\\domain\SysVol\domain\Policies\{GPO GUID}\Machine\VGPRESOLUTION 2:1 - Check if the GPO can be edited in Microsoft Group Policy Manager as it could be a corrupted object.If it can not, do the following:
1 - delete the GPO
2 - re-create the GPO
OTHER USEFUL TROUBLESHOOTING COMMANDS:1 - /opt/quest/bin/vgptool cleanRemove all cached policy settings.
2 - /opt/quest/bin/vgptool applyApply the settings from the Group Policy Objects associated with a QAS user or this QAS-enabled machine
3- /opt/quest/bin/vgptool listgptList the Group Policy Template (GPT) details which will include the name of the policy that matches GPO GUID.
