Description
When performing a Map operation in Quick Connect, the following error is displayed (see attached XML Error screenshot):

Map operation aborted. Details: XML parsing line 1, character 56, illegal xml character

Cause
Invalid data in source system. The name (cn) value contains an illegal Ascii character, such as this: ◄ (Ascii 17). -
Resolution
Workaround:
Remove the invalid character from the source object(s) and re-run the Map operation.

If it is possible to export the source data to a text file, the following regular expressions might be useful: This will match a single non-ASCII character: [^\x00-\x7F] This is a valid PCRE (Perl-Compatible Regular Expression). It might also be possible to use these POSIX shorthands: [[:ascii:]] - matches a single ASCII char [^[:ascii:]] - matches a single non-ASCII char [^[:print:]] - matches a single non-printable char
