How to edit the "Message" that is predefined when sending a response for a Self-Service Elevation Request.
When approving or not approving a Self-Service Elevation Request an option to send an email is presented. The email loads with a preset message format. The email is editable before sending however, any changes made to the message are not saved to be used if a new request is loaded. In Privilege Manager 4.2 and above the default template for the "Message" section can be customized.
1. Browse for Notepad, right-click and Run as Admin.
2. In Notepad go to File | Open
3. Then Browse for the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\Privilege Manager\Consolefolder\MessagesTemplates.cfg
4. Edit the messages as needed
Currently available variables are:
Approved: ExecutionDate, ProductName, Path, Arguments, Reason
Not Approved: ProductName, Path
5. Save the file and close.
