When configuring the Quick Connect for Lync, the following error is displayed:
Cannot connect using the specified connection.
Details: Cannot perform the requested operation because a Windows PowerShell session cannot be started. [server fqdn] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client sent a request to an HTTP server and got a response saying the requested HTTP URL was not available. This is usually returned by a HTTP server that does not support the WS-Management protocol. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
This can be caused by changing the ports for the Internal and External Lync sites within IIS or within Lync Server configuration. For example, the default Internal site has a binding for port 80 and the External site may be 8080.
If the ports are changed to Internal of 4443 and External 80 for instance, then the Quick Connector for Lync settings won't find the settings.
Add the port at the end of the URL in the connection settings.
For example if the Internal site is on port 4443 then the FQDN entry will be:
lyncserver.domain.com:44443
