Is it possible to use the "RDP - Automatic Login" option for PSM on systems that have custom credential providers on the login screen?
When using "RDP - Automatic Login", the user able to connect to the system, however, the user is prompted for username and password at the logon screen when a 3rd party credenital provider is installed on the target machine.
Some 3rd party credential providers are unable to pass through the credentials provided to the Windows credential provider. In these instances you will need to use the "RDP - Interactive Login" proxy type when setting up PSM.
Note: the issue is not with TPAM and can be seen by connecting natively using mstsc and supplying the username and credentials. The user will connect, and then be prompted their credentials on the desktop.
This issue has been seen when using RSA Authentication Agent 7, ActivIdentity ActivClient, One Identity Password Manager, and versions of One Identity Defender Desktop Login 5.7 and below:
Password Manager
Credential Passthru not seemless when SPE installed on Terminal Server
Defender
When connecting over Remote Desktop, the AD username & password don't get passed to remote system
