How to Shutdown or Restart an HA pair or Cluster
In TPAM version 2.4 and below, login to /PARADMIN on the Primary and go to the HA Settings.
-"System Status/Settings" | "HA Config" | "HA Settings"
Click the "Stop" buttons on both appliances to stop the replication service. Give it a minute. This is just to be safe so that nothing is interrupted during the shutdown.
Now proceed with shutting down the Replica by clicking the "Shutdown" button on the HA Settings page, and to shutdown the Primary use the "Shutdown" menu item.
When powering back up, connect a keyboard and monitor to each appliance to ensure they have booted up correctly and are not stuck on the Encryption login screen.
Login to the HA Settings on the Primary and verify they are both in the correct modes and are both "Running". You can also check the HA logs to verify communication.
In TPAM version 2.5 and above, login to the /ADMIN interface of the Primary and go to the Cluster Management page.
-"System Status/Settings" | "Cluster Management"
Change the Failover Timeout of the Replica appliance to a time greater than needed for the reboot of the Primary. This will keep the Replica from failing over while the Primary is offline.
To shutdown the Replica appliance, highlight the Replica and click on the "Reboot" button.
To shutdown the Primary appliance, select the "Shutdown" menu item
Once the appliances are back online, login to the /ADMIN and verify that the Cluster is back online, and restore the previous failover timeout value for the Replica.
