Web portal prompting for login, rather than using NTLM -
Description
When logging into the Web portal it is prompting for login credentials and is not accepting any credentials provided.
The expected behaviour is for it to perform Single Sign-On (SSO) based on the current windows login (and dependent on the Authentication module being used.) For example, "Active Directory user account (role based)" supports single sign-on. -
Cause
The issue is related to permissions. "NT Authority/Interactive" is missing from the local Users group on the IIS server. -
Resolution
Troubleshooting Suggestions:
- Is Windows Authentication installed on IIS?
- Is Windows Authentication enabled on the web site?
- Is NTLM set as the primary security service provider?
- Is the website set as an "Intranet" site in the browser settings?
