Is there a requirement for Linux / UNIX systems to have an SRV record in DNS prior to joining to Active Directory?
Resolution

A SRV record for UNIX / Linux systems is not required to join.
Working DNS is required and SRV records for the Domain and DC's are required although it is possible to join without DNS.
