How to find the location of a computer object for a joined system? How to find the location of a computer object from a remote system?
Description
How to find the location of a computer object for a joined system?
How to find the location of a computer object from a remote system?
Resolution
The, '/opt/quest/bin/vastool -u host/ info id' command will let you know where the computer object is in AD for a joined system.
If there is a requirement to know the same for another joined system without logging on and running the above noted command on that system then 'vastool search' can be used.
In the following example jb.idm2 is the domain and the sAMAccountName of the computer object is JB-JOEY$.
