Description
When attempting to configure a connection to Oracle in Quick Connect, the following error is observed:
The specified SQL Server instance cannot be contacted. Details: ORA-12504: TNS:listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATAORA-12504: TNS:listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA -
Cause
The local Oracle tnsnames.ora file has invalid connection data contained within. -
Resolution
Locate the local tnsnames.ora file and resolve any invalid connection data in the data.
