MCU - HTTP Error 503, Service Unavailable (4266755)

The following error may be reported when launching the Management Console for Unix (MCU)

“HTTP Error 503, Service Unavailable”

A database lock is in place preventing access to the MCU.

Resolution:

On the MCU server

1. Stop the MCU service.
2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Quest Software\Management Console for Unix\db
3. Make a backup copy of the file ‘console.script’
4. Open the original file and search for the text string

“INSERT INTO DATABASECHANGELOGLOCK VALUES”

1. If the values returned are anything other than (1,FALSE,NULL,NULL) then there is a database lock in place which needs to be removed.
2. Delete the full line with the above text string
3. Replace it with the following line

INSERT INTO DATABASECHANGELOGLOCK VALUES(1,FALSE,NULL,NULL)

1. Save the file
2. Start the MCU service
3. Verify that the MCU can now be accessed.
