When an FTP server has been configured with chroot (also known as 'jailed'), users will see new files created by QAS. Files you will see created in the jailed environment are listed below:
/var/opt/quest/vas/vasd/vas_ident.vdb
/var/opt/quest/vas/vasd/vas_misc.vdb
/var/opt/quest/vas/authcache/
This is due to the vas3 entries found in the nss configuration to properly resolve user and group information of AD users. Without these entries QAS will not function and is not supported.
There is no resolution for this issue as the vas3 entries are required.
