Error "Not licensed to change Unix properties of AD user" shown in Management Console for Unix -
Description
The following error message is shown in Management Console for Unix when trying to change the properties of a Unix enabled user under the 'Active Directory | Unix Account' tab:
Not licensed to change Unix properties of AD user
This error message still occurs if a valid Safeguard Authentication services 5.x format license file is installed in Active Directory. -
Cause
Management Console for Unix does not detect the 5.x format license file. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
Try adding a copy of the old 4.x license format into Active Directory.
WORKAROUND 2:
Use Active Directory Users and Computers to make changes to Unix enabled users. -
Additional Information
Please note that Management Console for Unix went 'End of Support' on 1st November 2021.
