The following error message appears when restarting pmserviced:

Error 4 starting pmserviced

Run the following command to check the dependency:
svcs -xv svc:/network/pmserviced:default
If the pm.settings file is missing then you will see the following output:

svc:/network/pmserviced:default (QPM4U service daemon)
State: offline since May 22, 2020 02:43:30 PM UTC
Reason: Dependency file://localhost/etc/opt/quest/qpm4u/pm.settings is absent.

See: /var/svc/log/network-pmserviced:default.log
Impact: This service is not running.

1. Check that you have installed the correct client package.
The following command can be used to check the currently installed package:
pkginfo | grep QSFT
The package names for each product are:
Privilege Manager for Sudo - qpm-plugin 6.1.1.0
Privilege Manager for Unix - qpm-agent 6.1.1.0
2. Remove the existing software package shown in step 1 and then re-Install the Privilege Manager for Sudo software package.
Note that this step is required even if the currently installed software package is shown as Privilege Manager for Sudo.
The Privilege Manager for Sudo packages can be found in the sudo_plugin directory on the installation media.
The Solaris Sparc version is under the solaris-sparc directory:
