How can you manually upgrade the version of QAS that the Managment Console for Unix (MCU) pushes out?
On the machine where MCU is installed:
1. Create a directory where you want to store the new QAS files, (e.g. C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Management Console for Unix\Software\QAS\)
2 . Copy the client directory from the root of the ISO or product download to the newly created directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Management Console for Unix\Software\QAS\)
3. Log on to MCU as supervisor
4. Select Preferences | System settings | Authentication Services
5. Change the Authentication Services software location on the server field to the directory you created above , e.g. C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Management Console for Unix\Software\QAS\.
6. Select OK to save your settings
7.Select the host you want to upgrade from the host list
8. Click 'Install Software’ button - you should have an option for upgrading QAS
9. Select the packages to upgrade and click OK.
10. Wait for task to finish successfully or address any errors
