When installing QAS on a Windows server, the installation fails with the following error:
There is an interaction between some versions of InstallShield and the QAS Install that causes the temporary folder path to not be interpreted properly if any component the user's temporary folder name is a long file name that would get converted to Windows 8.3 format.
The workaround is to set the installing user's TEMP environment variable to point to a folder that meets the DOS shortname requirements, such as "C:\temp".
1 - Set the tmp and temp environment variable to c:\temp
2 - Go to start, run and type in cmd. Then type set command to check temp and tmp directories.
3 - Reboot the server and check the set command again
4 - If everything looks good try the install again.
