Problems loading users from a file on the Unix server into AD. While loading users from a file, one receives the following error messages:
Unable to find match for user jtest2, tried the following upns:....
or
ERROR: VAS_ERR_NOT_FOUND....
The load file looked like this:
jtest2:x:1033:60001:AD ID 2:/export/home/jtest2:/bin/sh
jtest1:x:1034:60001:AD ID 1:/export/home/jtest1:/bin/sh
The way that "vastool load" identifies users in AD is via their UPN, by adding the domain to the provided value on the file. The problem here was that the first part of those accounts UPN does not match their sAMAccountName. The system is then looking for "jtest1@example.com" in AD and is not able to find it, since the UPN is actually "John.Test1@example.com".
Create a similar vas_etc_passwd file to:
John.Test2:x:1033:60001:AD ID 2:/export/home/jtest2:/bin/sh
John.Test1:x:1034:60001:AD ID 1:/export/home/jtest1:/bin/sh
and use the following command: "./vastool -u administrator load -e -f /vas_etc_passwd users" and VAS properly Unix enables those existing 2 accounts.
