Migration from LDAP Proxy and Virtual Directory Server to Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory (4301522)

Steps to to migrate old versions (5.5 and 6.0.1) of LDAP Proxy (LP) and Virtual Directory Server (VDS) to the new version of Quest One Quick Connect Virtual Directory Server (QCVDS).

Please note: if you are running version 5.1 of LDAP Proxy you may be able to upgrade directly to QCVDS 6.0.x, without going to 5.5 first.  As you can run a separate instance, upgrading, while leaving your original configuration running, is possible to test if the conversion is successful or not.

Some upgrades will require professional services assistance due to the nature of the configuration.  Please contact your Quest account rep. regarding professional services engagements.

The bash script has to be run in the confs directory, as per the attached document, but in the case VDS is in Program Files (x86) you can copy to C: for simplicity, i.e., C:\Confs.

Then type 'cd cygdrive/c/confs' (for example) - run the script from there, e.g.: bash convert.sh (renamed).  Once the conversion is done, you can copy the config back to the program files directory and open in VDS.
