Unable to download files from the Quest One TPAM Appliance (4304274)

After installing Microsoft Hotfix KB2618444 users running Internet Explorer 8 are unable to download files from the Quest One TPAM Appliance website.

Error: "Internet Explorer cannot download [file] from [server]." - "Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later".

WORKAROUND 1:

1. From Internet Explorer, select "Tools" and "Internet Options" from the menu.

2. Select the "Advanced" tab

3. Under the "Security" section, enable the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" option

4. Click "Apply" and "Ok"

5. Restart Internet Explorer and try to download the file again.

1. Open Registry Editor on Windows XP 32-bit workstation

2. Browse to the location: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\"

3. Create a DWORD key "BypassSSLNoCacheCheck"

4. Set the value of this new DWORD to "1"

5. Restart Internet Explorer and try to download the file again.
