pkgadd command for installing the VAS client package outputs similar messages to the following:
ERROR: content verification of failed file cksum <24714> expected <24586> actual /opt/quest/bin/uptool
ERROR: content verification of failed file cksum <7405> expected <6893> actual /opt/quest/bin/vastool
ERROR: content verification of failed file cksum <308> expected <65075> actual /opt/quest/lib/libvas-gssapi.so
Even though it results in errors, all of the files seem to be in place. Those content verification errors are considered a warning only and therefore do not stop the package installation. After install, when the attempting to join the domain, vastool seg faults (outputs below).
# /opt/quest/bin/vastool -u AD_Admin join ADdomainname.com
Checking whether computer is already joined to a domain ... no
Password for AD_Admin@ADDOMAINNAME.COM: Illegal Instruction (core dumped)
The chksum error messages during the package installation show that the files in the package are not what they are supposed to be, causing the package to be "Partially Installed" (chown by the command bellow). The package is either corrupt or was tempered with.
