Error connecting Active Roles (ARS) to IT Security Search (ITSS) -
Description
Connection error: Active Roles returned the following error: There was an error sending data on the TCP socket. The connection with the remote endpoint was terminated. An error occurred during Active Roles Data Attendant operation. Error details: An error occurred while sending the request. This error can persist for a few minutes even after you apply your settings. -
Cause
There is a problem with the certificate between ARS and ITSS. Newer versions of ITSS require more stringent security, and localhost is not longer able to be used in the certificate. -
Resolution
Recreate new CA-Signed certificate per User Guide.
In the instructions for "Providing a CA-Signed Certificate", be sure to include the fully qualified domain name of the ITSS server in the Alternative Name field when creating the certificate, as mentioned in one of the steps. Also, ignore the "Do Not export the private key" mention, so that the private key is also exported and imported.
