Alias are just mirrors of their parent systems and by default aliases use the same connection as the regular systems. Therefore, if you are having connection issues with the system, you will likely have the same issues with the aliases.
The idea of aliases is simply to mask or hide some of the functionality for lower priviledged users, but underneath it's still the same system.
