How To use the Job Execution Log Feature (4322749)

In Identity Manager, is it possible to enable logging for a specific process instead of for the full Job Server?

Yes! With Identity Manager such a feature was implemented under Feature ID: 26293 to add easier job-related Debug Log generation and retrieval. 

To set the Log Mode for a Process:

1. Open Designer
2. Select "Process Orchestration" and expand "Processes"
3. Expand the table and select the process that requires additional logging
4. Under Tasks for this process, select "Edit Process"
5. Select the step in the workflow that needs extra logging
6. For the Process Step properties, select the "Error Handling" tab
7. Click the drop-down for "Log Mode" and select the required mode
8. Commit and save the changes to database. Recompile as necessary. 

Log Mode Options:

• NO VALUE SELECTED / EMPTY
  • No Debug log is created
• FULL
  • The Job Service always generates Debug logs for the Job
• ERROR
  • The Job Service generates Debug logs for the job if it runs into an error
