Description
The Active Roles Web Interface intermittently shows the following error:
HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.
The System Event Viewer logs show an error similar to the following:
Application pool 'ARWebAppPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.Performing an IISReset in an elevated command prompt may resolve the issue for a period of time.All other Active Roles clients function without issue. -
Cause
IIS has a feature called Rapid-Fail Protection which is enabled by default.
With default settings, if five warnings or errors are encountered by any IIS App Pool within a five minute period, then that App Pool will be shut down,

Resolution
Review the Application and System logs. If the root cause of the failures is not immediately apparent, please contact Microsoft for assistance with identifying the issue.
