"Directory object not found" error when performing an update after a Deprovisioning operation -
Description
In Quick Connect or the Active Roles Synchronization Service, when performing an update after a Deprovisioning operation against an Active Roles connection, the update fails with the error Directory object not found -
Cause
The Active Roles Deprovisioning Policy includes the option to move the the deprovisioned object to different Organizational Unit or container. -
Resolution
This is the result of a Race Condition in Active Directory. The object is being referenced by a Distinguished Name which is no longer valid.
Perform Deprovisioning last, after all desired updates.
Inside the Deprovisioning Policy, ensure that the Move operation is the last one that is performed.
