How to allow Remote Access to the Configuration Interface /config.
Can remote access be enabled or disabled for /config on port 8443?
Access to the https://ip_address:8443/config on the network interface is enabled by default. To disable remote configuration access, from the /config interface | Remote Access | and select "Disabled" on the Remote Configuration Access drop down list and click the "Save Changes" button.
- When enabled, TPAM will allow access to the /config interface via port 8443 over the "Network" interface.
- When disabled, TPAM will not allow access to the /config interface via port 8443 over the "Network" interface", and the port will be closed.
If disabled, any future access to the /config interface would require a cross over cable to be used in the "Config" interface. See TPAM 2.5 Initial Configuration for more information.
For troubleshooting purposes we recommend allowing remote access to the /config interface. This is useful for environments where TPAM will be maintained in a secure limited access environment and obtaining a physical crossover connection to the appliance is difficult.
