Requesting clarification regarding the Password Management options: "None", "Manual" and "Automatic" for Account Management.
When I hit the "Reset Password" button on an oracle account with the management type set to "None" ePAR rotates the password. The documentation does not describe the "None" option, but I would expect that "None" means "Not Managed".
In regards to the Password Management options for managed accounts, specifically the "None" option, below is some clarification on this:
The "None" option under the account's management is basically saying "auto management will not occur for this account (i.e. post release reset, scheduled password changes, etc.)".
Additionally, when the system is set to "auto", a privileged functional account is defined for the system that gives PAR the ability to make password changes. So if the account "Password Management" is "None", and the system is "auto", PAR still can change the password, but it would only be attempted if you clicked the "Reset Password" button manually.
