Error loading the RootDSE -
Description
Receiving the following error when connecting to the LDAP connection:
"An error has occurred while loading the RootDSE entry from server.domain:3896. The default schema entry could not be loaded due to inability to access the RootDSE entry. Further processing will be aborted. Try changing your credentials or the server side access control list (ACL)." -
Resolution
Create a "New Access Control for DN" in an AccessControl plugin. This is selected in the right window of the AccessControl plugin. For the Input enter only cn="" (two double quotation marks).
- Inside this new node is where you have to create the new rule.
- If the new rule is listed below the original one, right-click the new rule and click "Move Up" so that it is first.
- Under "Scope" select "This entry only"
- Set everything under "Entry Privileges" to allow.
- The "Attribute Privileges" tab has to be configured to allow everything with all attributes.
- Save the changes.
