When updating the first and/or last name of a person who has an SAP user account in the Manager or Web Portal, the operation fails.
Attempting the change results in an error, and the update cannot be saved.
The error appears in both the Manager client and the Web Portal, with log messages such as:
[57293003] Object (SAPTest, Person (PERSONS)) could not be saved!
[810457] Error saving Person SAPTest, Person (PERSONS)
...
UID_Person is not a foreign key column.
In the Web Portal:
An error occurred while processing the request: PUT https://<server>/ApiServer/portal/admin/person/interactive
VI.Base.ViException: Error saving Person Test, Peter (PTEST1)
...
UID_Person is not a foreign key column.
The issue occurs specifically when the person has an SAP account.
This behavior is caused by a product defect in the event and process generation logic related to SAP user accounts.
When a person with an SAP account is updated, the process step SAP_Person_Update_CommunicationData attempts to generate tracking and process information.
Due to an internal logic issue, the system incorrectly expects UID_Person to be a foreign key column, resulting in the failure to save the person record.
The defect is tracked under Defect ID 481027.
If you encounter this problem, please request hotfix 481027 from One Identity Support.
