Syslog-ng PE .run installer service startup false error -
Description
When installing Syslog-ng PE with the provided .run installer with service registration opted for, the installer may return the following message:
Waiting for syslog-ng to start up...
An error occurred, syslog-ng installed properly but starting the service has failed. -
Cause
This is caused by the installer searching for the syslog-ng.pid indicator file in <SYSLOG_NG_INSTALL_DIR>/var/run/ instead of <SYSLOG_NG_INSTALL_DIR>/var/.

Resolution
To be fixed in a future version.
If you see this message, please confirm that syslog-ng.pid is indeed present, or check the status of the syslog-ng systemd service with systemctl. If syslog-ng is running, you may safely ignore this message.
