Errors in PMSelfService and PMHelpdesk when searching for users or attempting to reset passwords (4381753)

In certain environments, an error may occur in the PMSelfService and PMHelpDesk websites when attempting to search for a user or attempting to reset a password.

In the Windows Event Viewer for PM - One Identity Password Manager event log, you may see an error message indicating a COM class factory error such as the following:

Workflow error.
Additional information: Critical error in activity: PasswordResetAD.
Error message: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {{7007B8F2-2D65-4F26-A560-C82BC574BF13}} failed due to the following error: 8007007e The specified module could not be found. (0x8007007E).

Incorrect version of Visual C++ Redistributable. Defect ID 651211.

WORKAROUND

Install the latest version of Visual C++ Redistributable from here:

STATUS

The updated version of Visual C++ will be included in the upcoming release of Password Manager 5.16.
