When troubleshooting unexpected application behavior, permission issues, or rule enforcement in Privilege Manager for Windows (PM4W), the default logs may not provide enough detail for analysis. Enabling maximum logging captures detailed information about rule matching, validation, and token injection processes, allowing support and product development teams to investigate and resolve issues more effectively.
Set Maximum LogLevel
Open the Windows Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
Navigate to:
Set the LogLevel key to 9999 to enable maximum logging.
A screenshot of the registry setting can be attached to ensure correct configuration.
Reboot the Client Machine
After changing the registry value, reboot the system to ensure the new log level is applied.
Reproduce the Issue
Launch the affected application (e.g., Chrome) and reproduce the problem to capture relevant log entries.
Collect Logs
PM4W client logs:
ProgramData%\Privilege Authority\Logs
GPEClientDeploy logs (if needed):
SystemRoot%\Temp\Logs
Send Logs for Analysis
Once collected, send the logs to the support team for analysis.
