Switching between normal and advanced view in Sync Editor can lead to loss of settings in some cases.

If a user edits a Synchronization project in Advanced view, there are several options available that are not present or selectable in the normal view.

If one of these options is selected, and the project is saved, these settings are stored in the project as expected.

If the same user, or a different user then opens the project in simple mode, and updates/saves the project, any options which are not available in simple mode are removed from the project. This can happen even when the changes were made on a completely different tab where the options do not appear even in advanced mode.

This has been identified as a product defect.
