Join/Vasd start hangs on Solaris 11.4 SRU 86 and up (4382419)

Join/Vasd can potentially hang on Solaris 11.4 SRU 86 and up after attempting to join and start the vasd service.

NSCD changes implemented in Solaris 11 SRU 86+ cause a conflict in how vasd interacts with the name service daemon.

This issue has been reported as defect 699490, a fix is confirmed to be included in our upcoming Safeguard Authentication Services version 7.0.

WORKAROUND:

Disable the name service after installation and before joining the domain or starting vasd using the command below:

svcadm disable svc:/system/name-service/cache:default
