Description
After upgrading Password Manager to version 5.15 or later, customers who have reporting configured may experience reporting failures. The following error is logged in the Windows System Event Viewer on the Password Manager server:
The certificate received from the remote server was issued by an untrusted certificate authority. Because of this, none of the data contained in the certificate can be validated. The TLS connection request has failed. The attached data contains the server certificate.
The error indicates that Password Manager was unable to establish a trusted TLS connection to the SQL Reporting Services server because the server certificate presented during the TLS handshake could not be validated against a trusted certificate authority.

Cause
From Password Manager 5.15 onward, a valid and trusted TLS connection to the SQL Reporting Services server is required. This error is expected when the SQL Reporting Services server certificate has not been properly configured for trust on the Password Manager server. Specifically, it occurs when either of the following is true:
- The SQL Reporting Services server certificate (or its issuing certificate authority) is not installed in the trusted certificate store on the Password Manager server;
- The Force server certificate trust option has not been enabled within the Password Manager configuration;

Resolution
RESOLUTION 1 - Install and trust the SQL Reporting Services server certificate
Install the certificate used by your SQL Reporting Services server (or its issuing CA certificate) into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store on the Password Manager server, so that the certificate chain can be validated by Windows.
RESOLUTION 2 - Enable "Force server certificate trust" in Password Manager
Configure Password Manager to trust the SQL Reporting Services server certificate by enabling the Force server certificate trust option.
