How to gather logging for Active Roles Collector.
Extended diagnostic logging can be enabled for the Collector by adding the following registry entry on the machine running Collector:
7.2.x, 7.3.x, and 7.4.x versions
1) Launch the Registry Editor: Regedit
2) Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\One Identity\Active Roles\Configuration\
Please note: DO NOT use the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\One Identity\Active Roles\7.2\CollectorAndReports. If there are no other Active Roles components installed, then create the registry path.
A) Under the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\One Identity\Active Roles, create Key Configuration
3) If CollectorAndReports does not already exist then right-click on Configuration and select: New > Key
4) Name the new key as: CollectorAndReports
5) Right-click on CollectorAndReports and select: New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
6) Name it: Debug
7) Double-click on Debug and populate the Value Data field with: 1 and click OK
8) Open the Collector and reproduce the issue
9) Log file (CollectorDebug.log) will be created under:
C:\ProgramData\One Identity\Active Roles\Logs\Collector
Note: Remember to disable logging (changing Debug value to 0) once reproduction is completed.
7.0.x and 7.1.x versions
1) Launch the Registry Editor: Regedit
2) Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Dell\Active Roles\Configuration\
Please note: DO NOT use the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\Dell\Active Roles\7.x\CollectorAndReports. If there are no other Active Roles components installed, then create the registry path.
A) Under the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dell\Active Roles, create Key Configuration

6.x versions
32-bit Operating System: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\EDMCollector
64-bit Operating System: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Aelita\EDMCollector
Add this DWORD entry:
Value name: Debug
Value data: 1
With this registry value, Data Collector generates a diagnostic log file:
File name: EDMCollector.log
File location: Data Collector installation folder (C:\Program Files\Quest Software\ActiveRoles Server Collector 6.x or C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\ActiveRoles Server Collector 6.x by default)
Note: Remember to disable the log once completed. Do this by changing the Debug value to 0.
