Error: "pmstatus5.1.1 (004): 3003 Could not connect to a master daemon" -
Description
When running the pmstatus command
# ./pmstatus -h yourhost
You receive the error message
pmstatus5.1.1 (004): 3003 Could not connect to a master daemon for yourhost -
Cause
The Quest Priviledge Manager for Unix (QPM4U) services run under xinetd and this has not been started or is disabled.

Resolution
To check the status of the QPM4U services run the following commands, this is assuming you are using the default ports.
# netstat -an | grep 1234
# /etc/init.d/xinetd status
If xinetd is not started start it by running
# /etc/init.d/xinetd start
Then check that the QPM4U services are listening.
# netstat -an | grep 1234
