Replication from Primary fails when installing replacement Replica appliance.
When installing the replacement Replica appliance after having RMA'd the original, you may encounter a situation where the Primary will not associate or replicate with the new Replica.
In this case, perform the following steps:
- First log into the /paradmin interface of the Primary and download the most recent backup (or create a fresh backup)
- If the Replica is not already in Primary mode, then place it in Primary mode.
- Log into the /parconfig interface of the Replica and perform a restore from the Primary's backup.
- After the restore is complete, go back to the Primary's HA Settings page and attempt to switch the Replica into Replica mode (remember to move replica into Test Mode first)
If no further issues or errors are observed, normal replication and operation should begin.
