Trying to upgrade client and getting the following: "vas_ipc_connect: Error 2 calling connect"
Interprocess communication (IPC) refers to a specific operating system mechanism that allow processes to share data. The error #2 means process can no longer be found. This sometime can be seen during upgrade if the machine is in disconnect mode or if there is database cache corruption.
It is recommended that your system be in a good state before the upgrade is done.
To check the health of Authentication Services client please run /opt/quest/bin/vastool status command. You can then search our knowledge base if you receive any messages that the command reports.
To rejoin run vastool -u <ADadmin> join -f <yourdomain.com>.
