CRITICAL: 209 The /var/opt/quest/vas/vasd/vas_misc.vdb cache is invalid, integrity_check failed (4285334)

vastool status report the error: CRITICAL: 209 The /var/opt/quest/vas/vasd/vas_misc.vdb cache is invalid, integrity_check failed.

The Misc database file is corrupted

Possible scenarios that could cause a corrupt misc database file:

1 - Bad power off/disk removal,
2 - Interaction with backup software.
3 - Possibly bad kill of vasd ( kill -9 ), that would depend on how the OS handles that if it was writing. For example operating system moving data around internally, which is protected with a .journal file for other access, but didn't get to complete. ( Or was grabbed in the middle state ).

Unjoin and rejoin the machine to recreate the database file

1 - /opt/quest/bin/vastool -u <adadmin> unjoin -f -l

2- /opt/quest/bin/vastool -u <adadmin> join -f <yourdomain.com>

Note you can specify your regular join option with the above command for example -c <OU> if used.
