When generating a Password Control Policy, is it possible to force the use of a special character in the generated password?
While the Password Control Policy is designed to limit what characters are used, it is possible to create a policy that will force the use of a special character. To achieve this configuration, please perform the following:
-Create a new Password Connection Policy
-Add all special characters to the “Forbidden Characters” field (except what you want forced in the password)
-Configure and enable the “Allowed Characters” | “Special Characters” to use “From: 1, To: {x}”
-Apply, and test this password policy
The above should force a special character into each generated password and as @ is the only special character available this should match the password requirements of the application each time.
