Can TPAM change the password of a Scheduled Task running on a Windows managed system?
When TPAM attempts to change the password of a scheduled task, the user faces the following error message:
"Unable to initialize a connection to WMI in order to change services...."
2.4 and below
The eSPCW client is required to change scheduled tasks passwords - **NOTE - eSPCW requires additional licenses**
The eSPCW client eliminates the need to have ports other than 22 open between TPAM and the Windows device (i.e. no need for 445, 138/139, etc...). The client can also change COM+ applications using the account's identity, metabase/IIS and execute pre and post commands based on success or failure.
2.5
2.5 adds the ability to natively change Scheduled Tasks wiithout the need for the eSPCW client. This option is available on the Information tab of the managed account "Change password for Scheduled Tasks started by this account". This option from the TPAM Account Management GUI to change the Scheduled Tasks will only function correctly if the managed systems is Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or later.
