How to preform an unattended uninstall of QAS Control Center?
You must create/record a manual uninstall first in order to create your InstallShield information setup file. To do this for QAS follow these steps:
1) Create/record your QAS uninstall setup.iss file by running the following when QAS is installed:
qas.exe /r
This will create/record a setup.iss file that should look similar to this:
[InstallShield Silent]
Version=v7.00
File=Response File
[File Transfer]
OverwrittenReadOnly=NoToAll
[{D89C7FEA-CC60-4967-A0A3-8E0958B062C5}-DlgOrder]
Dlg0={D89C7FEA-CC60-4967-A0A3-8E0958B062C5}-MessageBox-0
Count=2
Dlg1={D89C7FEA-CC60-4967-A0A3-8E0958B062C5}-SdFinishReboot-0
[{D89C7FEA-CC60-4967-A0A3-8E0958B062C5}-MessageBox-0]
Result=6
[Application]
Name=Quest Authentication Services 4.0.3.112
Version=4.0.3.112
Company=Quest Software, Inc.
Lang=0009
[{D89C7FEA-CC60-4967-A0A3-8E0958B062C5}-SdFinishReboot-0]
Result=1
BootOption=0
2) Now you can uninstall quietly and unattended by running:
qas.exe /s /sms /f1 c:\path-to\setup.iss
The prompt may come back right away as it seems installshield didn't wait, but if you give it a moment you will see QAS gets uninstalled.
