Moving TPAM session logs from one Archive server to another.
Moving TPAM session logs from a Windows Archive server to a Linux Archive Server.
In this example we have two defined Archive Servers, and the steps detail moving the association of existing session logs from WArchive to LArchive.
Windows Archive server - WArchive
Linux Archive server - LArchive
Current session logs archived to WArchive Server Path “C:\Sessions”
To move the association of archived sessions logs from WArchive it must be deleted from the Archive Server list.
Before WArchive can be deleted LArchive must become the default archive server.
When you delete an archive server you are presented with the following Warning that must be confirmed by clicking “Delete Server”.
The Archive Server Path for the sessions TPAM previously associated with WArchive have been changed to point to the path listed for LArchive.
**NOTE** The previous steps only changed the Archive Server and Archive Server Path references on the appliance NOT the actual session logs themselves. External to the appliance the actual files need to be moved from WArchive to LArchive.
To insure proper transfer it’s best to connect directly to the current archive server using the archive account associated to it. Then from that archive server use an SCP utility to connect to the new archive server using the archive account associated with it.
Select the copies on the "Old" WArchive server and then copy them to the new LArchive server.
Verify that the files were transferred successfully.
