Is it possible to restore a backup done at a different Safeguard version?
For example, can a lower 6.0 LTS backup be restored to a higher 6.14 or 7.x Feature release SPP?
Or can a higher feature release 6.14 backup be restored to a lower 6.0 LTS release?
Or can a higher feature release 7.2 backup be restored to a lower 7.0 LTS release? -
Resolution
Starting from SPP version 2.6, an Appliance administrator can restore backups taken from Safeguard for Privileged Passwords version 2.2 and above. Backups can only be restored from current or older versions of Safeguard.Attempting to restore a newer or higher version backup to an older or lower version will show the following error: "Restore failed because the backup version '7.2.0.xxxx' is newer than the currently running version '7.0.0.xxxx'. (60668)"
