Next password change date not updating to the value configured in password change schedule after performing a set password or change password action.
Current SPP expected behavior:
The scheduler modifies the change dates in SafeGuard as follows:
- SetPassword is expected to update LastPasswordChangeDate but not NextPasswordChangeDate
- ChangePassword is expected to update LastPasswordChangeDate but not NextPasswordChangeDate
- The Scheduler is the only thing that updates NextPasswordChangeDate so that the schedule is honored regardless
RESOLUTION
Change Request #289418 was implemented under enhancement feature # 306254 | 306755 (New option added that allows manual resets of password and SSH key changes to restart the timer for the next scheduled change.) and released in SPP version 7.0 LTS and above.
To enable this feature, tick the check box option for "Reschedule for unscheduled password change" in the Change Password Profile.
When this option is enabled, the rotation schedule will be reset after setting or changing a password so that the next scheduled check & changes date will take place based upon the last reset.
