Title
Error: "SSH client cannot be found" when connecting to a SSH session -
Description
When connecting to a SSH session, Putty is not loaded and the error "SSH client cannot be found" or "SSH Client Program cannot be found" is shown.
OR
When connecting to SSH sessions through the Safeguard client the wrong version on Putty. -
Cause
The desktop client looks for any user-installed PuTTY in the following locations:- Any reference to putty in the PATH environment variable- C:\Program Files/Putty- C:\Program Files(x86)/Putty- C:\PuttyIf PuTTY is not found, the desktop client uses the version of PuTTY that it installed at:
<user-home-dir>/AppData/Local/Safeguard/putty. -
Resolution
Ensure that C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Safeguard\putty is included in the Windows path variable higher than older Putty versions. This can be set in Control Panel | System | Advanced System Settings | Environment variables | System Variables -
Additional Information
Safeguard 2.9 and below install "Release 0.70 (Safeguard)", 2.10, 2.11 install "Release 0.72 (Safeguard)". 6.0 and above install "Release 0.73"
